Experimental
Double Loop Electrochemical Potentiokinetic Reactivation (DL-EPR) test
- solution of 0.5 M H2SO4 containing 0.01 M KSCN, anodic polarisation at a rate of 1.67 mV/s from -0.4 V to +0.3 V (activation scan) and back to -0.4 V vs SCE (reactivation scan).
Polarisation measurements (PD)
- solution of 1M HClO4 containing 7000 ppm Cl-. Anodic polarisation at a rate of 0.5 mV/s from -0.4 V to 1 V vs SCE.
Morphological observations (MO)
- eye microscope (Leica DMLM) equipped with a digital camera.
- All the electrochemical tests were performed at ambient temperature using a Princeton Applied Research model 273A potentiostat operating with Power Suite software. The corrosion cell consisted of the sample, embedded in epoxy resin, a platinum counter electrode and a saturated calomel reference electrode.
