CONCLUSIONS

• The results obtained on the traditional systems show that the chlorinated rubber primer gives good performance, especially in combination with AF paint with copper.

• Systems containing the aluminised epoxy primer are the best ones. Both samples with the two different AF paints were endowed of very good resistance to corrosion phenomena.

• System constituted by the water based epoxy primer and the two AF paints offered very bad properties against corrosiona already after 24 hours of exposure.

• In the case of silicon systems the obtained results reveal that their electrochemical properties are excellent. It may be due to their low surface tension, large contact angle and highly hydrophobic nature imparted by the inherent molecular structure.
